AbstractL’opera, risultato di oltre dieci anni di ricerca, costituisce uno studio inedito sulla relazione tra i Medici, il collezionismo e la committenza di stampe nei due secoli del Principato. La ricerca ha messo in luce una collezione di straordinaria qualità e coerenza, con alcune eccellenze – ad esempio le stampe fiamminghe e olandesi del XVI e XVII secolo – compiendo un significativo passo avanti nella ricostruzione del profilo storico del Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe degli Uffizi. / This original study on the relationship between the Medici, print collectors and print buyers during the two centuries of the Princedom is based on a ten-year research. The research has highlighted high quality and consistency of a collection boasting excellences such as the 16th- and 17th-century Flemish and Dutch prints, thus taking a significant step forward in redefining the historical profile of the Uffizi Drawings and Prints Department.
