AbstractSono ricostruiti i percorsi seguiti dalle idee meccaniche e cosmologiche nel periodo intercorrente tra la prima esposizione della teoria eliocentrica nel De revolutionibus di Copernico (1543) e la presentazione di una nuova meccanica nei Principia mathematica di Isaac Newton (1687). Nella I parte si individuano gli elementi di permanenza e quelli di trasformazione operanti dal Medioevo in avanti; nella II, la prima accoglienza riservata all'opera di Copernico; nella III, le differenti interazioni fra cosmologia e nuova scienza del moto.A reconstruction of the paths followed by mechanical and cosmological ideas in the period between the appearance of heliocentrism in De Revolutionibus of Copernicus (1543) and the presentation of new mechanics in Principia mathematica of Isaac Newton (1687). The first part identifies factors of both permanence and transformation from the Middle Ages onwards, the second part focuses on the early reception of Copernicus while the third is devoted to different interactions between cosmology and the new science of motion.
